Meraj Khan was brought up in Mumbai and raised in a well-established family, where his father’s successful business instilled a sense of discipline and integrity. Years into managing various businesses, His experience with a fraudulent Umrah package shook him deeply—services that were promised had not been delivered, and the lack of transparency was disheartening. But instead of walking away in frustration, this moment became his driving force. Upon his return to India, he felt a responsibility toward his community, a desire to shield others from such experiences. It was then that the idea for Al Gilani Travels India was born—a non-profit organization devoted to providing honest, transparent, and affordable pilgrimage packages. "I wanted to ensure that no one else ever faces the disappointment I did," he says. "It's about trust, and that trust is what I wanted to build."
Entering an industry filled with numerous agencies offering Hajj and Umrah services, He knew that earning the community’s confidence would take time and consistent effort. "Trust was our biggest hurdle,” he admits, “but the dedication of my team made all the difference. With every satisfied traveler, we built credibility one step at a time."
Overcoming those initial challenges became one of the business's greatest triumphs, as positive feedback from their clients began to speak louder than any marketing ever could.
