Growing up in the household of a seasoned wedding videographer and photographer, Shyam was exposed to cameras and editing tools from a young age. Despite initially aspiring to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant, Shyam found himself drawn back to his roots in visual storytelling.
"My interest in video editing and shooting began during my college years at A.M. Jain College, Meenambakkam. While pursuing my studies, I dabbled in freelancing as an editor, starting small but steadily gaining traction. It was during this time that I co-founded a YouTube channel called Research Thamizhan with a friend, and later Cosmic Web Studios, where we ventured into short film production. Though our initial YouTube efforts faced challenges, our third short film resonated well with audiences, opening doors for collaboration and new opportunities," Shyam reminisces.
From these beginnings, Shyam's career path evolved. His pivotal moment came through connecting with Raja Vetri Prabhu for an album project, propelling him into the world of content creation full-time. "Years of practice, patience, and unwavering consistency have shaped my journey. Learning from tutorials on YouTube was just the beginning; the real growth came from continuous practice and learning from every opportunity and individual encountered,"
For Him, One key lesson is the importance of patience and consistency. In an ever-changing industry, adaptability and a willingness to learn from anyone, regardless of their position, are crucial. He advises one to Embrace challenges as learning opportunities have been integral to his growth.
Transitioning from traditional freelancing to focusing on personal branding and brand collaborations, Shyam's business, Cuts Coffee Studio, now thrives on creating impactful content that resonates with audiences. "I specialize in personal branding and brand deals through content creation. Additionally, I offer courses and host a YouTube podcast, diversifying my income streams while staying true to my passion for visual storytelling," he explains.
"Initially skeptical, my family eventually rallied behind me, especially during challenging times like the pandemic. Their belief in my abilities, coupled with my commitment to the craft, led to a turning point in my career," Shyam shares gratefully.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, He offers practical advice: "Never give up. Each setback is an opportunity to grow stronger. Value your work and seek collaborations that offer mutual benefits. Continuous learning and enjoying what you do are key to sustained success," he advises passionately.
