Growing up with a traditional middle-class mindset, Mohit walked on his higher education at IIT Delhi in 2017, majoring in chemical engineering. His time at IIT Delhi was transformative, exposing him to a variety of activities, including sports, cultural pursuits, robotics, and crucially, entrepreneurship. However, it was during this period that Mohit realized engineering was not his true calling.
To break out of his introverted shell, He ventured into sales and marketing, selling chemical-free products to gain market experience. This experience was pivotal, igniting his passion for creating and marketing products that were not only effective but also free from harmful chemicals. Graduating in 2021, Mohit made the bold decision not to pursue traditional employment. Instead, he dedicated himself to researching and gaining the necessary experience to launch his own brand, Be Pure Naturals, at the start of 2023.
Mohit believes that immersing oneself in the field and learning from experienced professionals is invaluable. “Your network is your net worth,” he states, underscoring the necessity of building relationships and seeking guidance from those with more experience. Mohit’s entrepreneurial philosophy is shaped by two key insights: age is not a barrier to success, and the value of experience cannot be purchased but must be earned over time.
Mohit acknowledges that while parents may initially be skeptical, their reservations often stem from a deep understanding of their child’s capabilities. His own parents were hesitant about his decision to forgo a stable job, but they eventually supported him because of his proven track record of success, such as cracking the IIT-JEE exam with a good rank. Mohit’s message to young entrepreneurs is to build trust with their parents by demonstrating their abilities and commitment.
Mohit faced challenges in the personal care industry, investing three lakh rupees without sufficient knowledge and making content creation mistakes. He views these setbacks as valuable lessons. “Good experience often comes from bad experiences. Improve day by day,” he advises.
Be Pure Naturals educates consumers on harmful chemicals in hair and skincare products, promoting organic and Ayurvedic alternatives. Mohit’s mission includes environmental conservation through natural ingredients. “We can save water, air, and soil. At the end, it will save lives,” he asserts.
His final piece of advice is to explore diverse interests, especially during college. “Try 100 different things, find what you love, and give your best to be the best,” he encourages.
