“In the bustling city of Mumbai nestled amidst the vibrant chaos of life, I always emerged with boundless enthusiasm, an insatiable appetite for adventure, and a natural hunger to learn.” Kanan Jhunjhunwala grew up under the influence of a selflessly hardworking man, better known as her father, who would toil everyday only to ignite her passion for entrepreneurship. Simply put, the skill in question was to create an empire which they can all be extremely proud of. This fundamental equation is what got Kanan to begin her journey with awareness and confidence. She gained her education in design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Mumbai and is presently pursuing an Family Managed Business degree from SP Jain Institute of Research and Management, and some courses with business coaches
While Graduating, she knew Retail was the way to go and took the first step by launching Ethnic India in the digital space during the lockdown. Along with valuable lessons and demanding hours, the building of this establishment brought tonnes of experience in her professional world. They came a long way from the B2B industry in textiles to e commerce and now in retail. Fortunately for Kanan, this is just the beginning of a series of successes and endeavours to come.
Coming to Jhunjhunwala's company, Ethnic India, one may call it a revolutionized medium for men to make a statement. A brand with 28 years of expertise in textiles is now fit to be called exquisite, extraordinary and obviously experienced. It seamlessly blends modernity with tradition, ensuring that every man exudes sophistication and confidence.
She accredits her healthy attitude towards work to the Enthusiastic cheerleaders in her life, her family, friends, mentors, and everyone she has possibly learned with. They have inculcated the habit of constant learning and observation in her due to which she never fails to seek the tiniest bit of knowledge whenever and wherever it can be found. Their support and encouragement have been described as indispensable catalysts in her life which ought to be paid heed to and given significance to by said person.
Another deserving mention is a life motto she abides by,’ If somebody offers you an opportunity &you are not sure if you can do it, say yes to do it and then learn how to do it’. Learning through different methods has to be a continuous process throughout the journey.
She always advises that entrepreneurial journeys cannot be walked through alone and thus conscious efforts should be taken to surround yourself with energies that inspire you, support you in pushing boundaries, and constantly show you the mirror.
