The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT M) is set to host its 10th Entrepreneurship Summit, ‘Decade of Dynamism,’ from February 28, 2025. The event, renowned as one of India’s premier entrepreneurship gatherings, is expected to attract over 1,000 startup founders, 50 investors, and 15,000 students from more than 400 colleges nationwide.
For the first time, the e-summit will feature ‘PitchFest,’ a live fundraising event where around 100 startups will compete for funding from leading angel investors. This unique initiative will provide an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and secure capital to scale their ventures.
According to IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti, PitchFest will serve as a platform for students to demonstrate their ability to attract funding by convincing angel investors of their startup's potential.
The annual e-summit has long been a hub for young entrepreneurs looking to nurture innovative ideas and transform them into successful business ventures. By bringing together industry leaders, venture capitalists, and students, the summit fosters collaboration, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
Another first for the summit is ‘Biz Bazaar,’ an entrepreneurial marketplace where students can showcase and sell their creations. Designed as a low-prep event, Biz Bazaar allows students to gain hands-on business experience in a practical, real-world setting.
E-cell faculty advisor Richa Agrawal emphasized that the summit is the culmination of a yearlong effort by the e-cell team, both on and off campus. To further enhance engagement, the event will also feature a startup expo, providing students, investors, and professionals an opportunity to display their products and services.
The e-summit will also include a bootcamp designed for early-stage startups, an incubator summit, and a pan-India fundraising event called ‘Elevate.’ These initiatives aim to foster collaboration among entrepreneurs, mentors, angel investors, and venture capitalists, providing essential guidance and support to budding businesses.
In addition to business-focused events, the summit will also promote social initiatives such as ‘In-Verse,’ a program launched this year to empower the creative arts sector. Another key initiative, ‘Education-21,’ aims to help schoolchildren develop an entrepreneurial mindset from an early stage.
