As the founder of Resonate, Hanspreet Kaur initiated an education-focused venture dedicated to soft skills training, as she was driven by her deep-rooted love for communication and public speaking. From a young age, Hanspreet displayed a natural flair for communication. Whether it was anchoring school events or excelling in extemporaneous speech contests, she always gravitated toward opportunities that allowed her to express herself. This passion eventually led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in English Honours, followed by a Master’s in International Relations. Despite enjoying her academic pursuits and acquiring valuable skills along the way, the corporate sector left her yearning for more. “I always felt something was missing,” she reflects, a sentiment that eventually inspired her bold decision to leave a stable job in Bengaluru and return to Chandigarh in search of a more fulfilling path. Her first job in the sector turned out to be a nightmare, testing her resolve and pushing her to the brink of despair. Her father’s unwavering support gave her the courage to quit and recalibrate.
This period of uncertainty led to an existential crisis, but it also became the crucible in which her entrepreneurial spirit was forged. She began exploring freelance opportunities, upskilling through specialized courses, and laying the groundwork for what would eventually become Resonate.Resonate started humbly, as a pro-bono initiative during her time in Bengaluru, but it soon evolved into a full-fledged business. By January, She had taken the plunge, relaunching Resonate alongside an Instagram page dedicated to educational content. Her consistency and creativity bore fruit almost immediately; within three months, she amassed over 30,000 followers, a proof to her ability to connect with her audience. Today, she offers one-on-one sessions in resume building, interview preparation, and spoken English, creating personalized learning experiences that cater to her clients’ unique needs. With countless trainers offering similar services, she knew she had to distinguish herself. Her strategy was twofold: first, to leverage Instagram as a platform to showcase her expertise and engage with potential clients; second, to focus on delivering exceptional service. “Good testimonials and reviews are the only way to build credibility,” she says. She believes that while competition is fierce, the key to standing out lies in creativity and adaptability. Her decision to emphasize one-on-one sessions was informed by a keen understanding of her clients’ preferences. “A lot of people feel more comfortable and heard in a judgment-free zone,” she explains, underscoring her commitment to creating safe and personalized learning environments. Family support has been instrumental in Hanspreet’s journey. Her father’s encouragement gave her the confidence to take risks and follow her dreams, even when financial stability seemed elusive. “Not everyone has the privilege to take such risks, and I value what I have,” she says. Starting Resonate required minimal resources—just a phone, laptop, and internet connection.
This low barrier to entry enabled her to focus on building her brand and expanding her reach. Nevertheless, Hanspreet’s journey has not been without its difficulties. Overcoming self-doubt, navigating market competition, and building a loyal client base have tested her perseverance at every turn. Resonate is all about empowerment. Her goal is to help individuals unlock their potential by mastering the art of communication. Whether it’s a student preparing for college interviews or a corporate professional seeking to enhance their presentation skills, her tailored sessions aim to bridge the gap between knowledge and expression. Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is: “Figure out what you love, and then take that first step, no matter how difficult it seems. The joy of making a living doing what you love is unparalleled.”
